Ho Ho Ho

And it is Thursday already....boy, this week of mayhem has just flown by! And now it is waaaay too early in the morning and I am up because I have to sub (AGAIN!) for one of the teachers at school and she has the early shift. And can I just say for the record that I hate, HATE getting up early.

But being a teacher sure has its perks right around Christmas time. I thought maybe I'd get a few cards drawn by the kids, maybe a mom would bake us all some cookies, you know, nothing big or crazy. Well, so far to date...I have received the most unbelievable things! Two moms brought us in danishes and a big 7-up cake for all the teachers...very delicious. Then, another mom gave me a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noby! (I know! Seemed overly generous. I mean her son has 4 teachers!) That same day another mom gave me a $25 gift card for Lettuce Entertain You! Then another mom gave each teacher a pound of gourmet chocolate covered toffee...with the little nuts...ooooh, so heavenly.

And when I thought it couldn't get any better, yesterday a mom came in whose daughter I also babysit for from time to time, and she gave us each little Christmas cards. Now...I'm not sure what was in anyone else's card, but in mine was a big ole' check for fifty smackers! $50! Who in the heck writes a check to a teacher for $50??? The awesome moms at my school, that's who!

Oh and just wait until I tell you about what big present I got last night! But I don't have time right now. I must get ready and then today at 2pm we are leaving for Springfield, Mo. Another long day in the car. But it will be nice to have a whole week off to just relax.

Two more shopping days until Christmas!!!!!!

i remember my first christmas in chicago, I was working at a montessori school, as an assistant in the after-school program and I got over $300 worth of cash and gifts from parents. plus, the school gave me about a $200 bonus. It almost made up for the lave wages I was being paid. but not really.

have a beautiful christmas and a wonderful, relaxing time off!

That's great news! I can't wait to spend my share of OUR money.
