Very Belated Valentine's Post

I realized that Valentine's Day is not a day a lot of people enjoy, be it from a broken heart, having no one in their life, being away from the person (people) they love, and so on...And, since it was the day of luuuuv, everyone, including myself, at some point probably thought about a past love or two.

So in honor of all the broken hearts we've had to endure, here's my official top 10 list of sad songs that break my heart to listen to: (in no particular order)

1. Letters to Elise- The Cure
2. Black Star- Gillian Welch's cover of the radiohead song
3. The Blower's Daughter- Damien Rice
4. In The Arms of Sleep- Smashing Pumpkins
5. I Miss You- Incubus
6. The Way You Look Tonight- Tony Bennett version
7. Hey Jupiter- Tori Amos
8. All I Want Is You- U2
9. Between Us To Hold- Hayden
10. Never Is A Promise- Fiona Apple

If you have any you'd like to add to my list, please post, I'd love to hear what your saddest songs are. I'm off to Peru tomorrow. I'll think of you all while I'm on top of the Andes mountains.

"Screaming Infidelities" - Dashboard Confessional

Well As for now I'm gonna hear the saddest songs
And sit alone and wonder
How you're making out
But as for me, I wish that I was anywhere, with anyone....making out.

Pedro the Lion's "Options."

we were walking, holding hands, with our bare feet in
the sand and the seagulls overhead when i broke the spell and said
i could never divorce you without a good reason
though i may never have to, it's good to have options
but for now i need you
but for now i need you
but for now i need you
but it was only in my head because no one ever says
what they really mean to say when there's that much at stake
so i told her i loved her and she told me she loved me
and i mostly believed her and she mostly believed me

Ooooo, those definitely need to be added to my list. Just reading the lyrics ripped a little heart string. I bet I could have a top 30 list and there would still be more...
