My living room today

The dime on the rug reflecting the light from the olde timey lamp that we got at the antique store last summer, the box full of framed family pictures I still haven't hung up, my broken pottery piece I just can't throw out on the table I got for $45 at the Brown Elephant, the plant in the corner trying desperately to grow despite the lack of sunlight, the books neatly shelved, the books hurriedly stacked, the Mexican candle I sort of stole from the flea market, the lonely lamp that never gets used because it shines too brightly, the twin baby blue chairs that match the New York bowl that came from a distant family member whom I only met once, the radiator that camouflages into the wall, the cozy couch with the brown pillow which is right beside the lap top which is on the lap of a girl who wishes she were anywhere right now but in this room...
